Is the B-29 Still in Lake Mead?

If you are interested in diving, Lake Mead can be the perfect destination for you since you can scuba dive and see the historic B-29 plane underwater. Not only is it a historical destination, but if you want to try out other activities, you have so many opportunities.

At Lake Mead Mohave Adventures, we offer everything from kayaking to rafting to fishing and camping so that you can enjoy the beauty of nature with your partner or your family in the most fun ways.

Lake Mead B-29

The historic B-29 bomber, while on a mission for atmospheric research, crashed into the bottom of Lake Mead in 1948 during World War II. Due to the recent Lake Mead drought conditions, it has now become even more accessible and visible to visitors.

The plane is currently at a 115-foot depth, which means that people can visit it while scuba diving. What an amazing adventure to be able to see the wreckage of the historic plane! You will need to be part of a permitted tour to be able to dive into the specific area where the B-29 is, but you can contact the individual companies to find out which tours go there.
