Las Vegas is known for its big casinos and over-the-top entertainment. Yet, the city, and the surrounding area, can be enjoyed for far more than just that. For many people, skipping the hotels and enjoying the outdoors is a must when traveling.

Luckily, there are a lot of great campgrounds near Las Vegas that can provide you with an exceptional outdoor experience. These include some of the best RV parks as well. If you are looking for a short or long-term campground near Las Vegas, you’ll want to consider these campsites.

#1: Cottonwood Cove Resort

Cottonwood Cove Resort & Marina is an outstanding campground for those who want to be out on the water. It is the premier houseboat and recreation destination on Lake Mohave. You can rent a houseboat as well as small watercraft to take out with you on the water, fish, sunbathe, and have a lot of fun with your jet skis. If you want waterfront fun, this is an excellent choice.

There is a campground located at the resort as well. The RV Park offers 72 hook-ups with waterfront beach access on the south shore. It’s very accessible to the marina. You’ll have a fabulous view when you set up at this location! More so, it’s one of the best options for those looking for cheap RV parking.

#2: Callville Bay Marina

As a full-service marina, Callville Bay is the type of place you want to go when you need time in the warm weather and the cool water. Callville Bay Resort & Marina sits on Lake Mead, which offers 550 miles of shoreline, outstanding beaches, pristine bays, and red rock cliffs that soar on either side. It’s just about an hour from Las Vegas, which means it is easy enough to take a day trip to the casinos and entertainment there if you want to do so.

While you’re at Callville Bay Marina, you can enjoy the ski boat and personal watercraft rentals, use one of the houseboats for your stay, or just relax under the sun. The RV Park and Campground are very affordable. There are 5 hook-up spaces for rent. The Callville Bay campground is operated by the National Park Service. It has 52 sites with running water, grills, shade, and picnic tables to offer. It’s open all year and offers options for trailers, RVs, and tents.

#3: Willow Beach Harbor

Willow Beach Harbor is a marina and campground located in the Black Canyon area of the Colorado River. There are more than 235 miles of shoreline to explore here, including some beautiful, natural scenery. The area is a part of the Lake Mead National Recreation area, which makes it easy to explore all of the area’s amenities. For those who want to get out onto the water, you can rent powerboats, canoes, and other watercraft to do so. Kayak and canoe rentals are a popular option, too.

The Willow Beach RV Park has lots of room to offer. It’s a full-service RV park as well as a tent campground located about 45 minutes from the heart of Las Vegas. The location in the desert is stunning, with the mountains and high cliffs creating a protected area. There are a total of 28 full-service RV sites here that include water, a fire ring, a picnic table, and 9 tent camping sites with a limit of 2 tents per site. These also offer a fire ring and picnic tables.

#4: Lake Mead RV Village

The Lake Mead RV Village at Boulder Beach is another option for those who are visiting. Boulder Beach Park is a short drive to Las Vegas, easily done in one day. It is also only a few minutes to the historic Boulder City, with plenty of amenities to offer.

For those planning a visit to this area, the Lake Mead RV Village offers 115 RV sites, with many of those being pull-thru sites. Most sites have WiFi access, propane available for purchase, and all utilities. There is also a large recreation area that has a bocce ball court, horseshoe pits, and picnic areas. There are even two meeting rooms for those who are bringing a group. The costs are very inexpensive, ensuring that you get the experience that you want affordably.

#5: Echo Bay RV Village

Another one of the best campgrounds near Las Vegas is Echo Bay RV Village. If you want to camp and fish, you want to visit this particular location. It is also ideal for boaters who want to bring their own boat or rent one. This is also a fantastic location for those who want a long-term location since you can easily stay for a month or longer if you like (and it is pretty cheap to do so as well!) The area is close to St. Thomas, a historic town with plenty to see and do. You can also do some hiking here.

Echo Bay RV has 55 sites for you to choose from. These are located in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. All sites have power, restroom, and shower access. Most sites also have WiFi access. Echo Bay RV Village allows camping, including long-term camping. You get the amenities you need and the sites to make it fabulous.

#6: Temple Bar Resort Marina

Another of the best campgrounds near Las Vegas is Echo Bay RV Village. It is also on Lake Mead and just a short drive from the city. Located on the Arizona side of the reservoir, this location provides some excellent access to the coves and beaches in the region. It’s a beautiful location full of things to do and see. It also offers a full-service marina, which means spending days on the water is super easy and enjoyable.

There are 10 full-service hook-ups available in the RV park in the Trailer Village area. The costs are affordable here, too. The Temple Bay Campground is operated by the National Park Service. It has over 100 sites that offer restrooms, grills, picnic tables, and other amenities.
